Join us for a true Mediterranean hike through unspoiled nature and magical vistas. Mt Snježnica is the southernmost peak of huge Dinara mountain range rising 1.234 m above sea level. Mountain’s name comes from a Croatian word for snow, since the white patches sometimes linger here to the end of April, in some cavities even longer. During the antiquity, Snježnica was known as Aesculapius Mountain since people then believed the Greek god of health and healing resided at this rugged and beautiful mountain.
Our hike atop Snježnica begins in hotel in village of Kuna at 7 a.m. As we climb, we shall enjoy the astounding Mediterranean vistas, with slopes covered in many rare Mediterranean herbs and plants. Snježnica’s peak, called Ilijin Vrh (Elijah’s top) offers the most amazing vista of Konavle Valley, Monte Negro mountains and Boka Kotorska Bay. Simply a perfect place to have a refreshment and shoot some great photos, before we venture downhill to our starting and finish point.
